SFP+ is an enhanced version of SFP. SFP+ package has almost same mechanical properties but better performance on EMI/EMC. It is designed for higher data rate applications like 6Gb/s, 8Gb/s and 10Gb/s. SFP+ transceivers are interchangeable with SFP transceivers and can be used in the same cages as SFP transceivers.It facilitates networking system upgrade essentially as new technology and new products emerge in endlessly. SFP+ transceivers have a smaller footprint and lower power consumption than XFP transceivers, so there is a trendancy that SFP+ will probably replace XFP, especially in datacom industry.
